Timo Werner to continue his loan spell at Tottenham for the whole of next season

LONDON (AP) — Germany forward Timo Werner will remain at Tottenham on loan from Leipzig for the entirety of the upcoming season.

Spurs confirmed the extension on Tuesday, revealing that the club holds an option to make Werner's stay permanent.

The 28-year-old striker had spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Tottenham, where he was a regular starter and netted two goals in 13 Premier League outings.

A hamstring injury sidelined him for Tottenham's final matches, but the team secured a fifth-place finish to qualify for the Europa League.

Werner, who had a stint at Chelsea from 2020 to 2022, was not selected in the Germany squad for the European Championship.
